WHAT TO DO ?

As the capital of the Bavarian province, Munich's traditional Oktoberfest draws crowds every October. The most famous beer in the world is brewed here to be served at the festival amidst views not to be missed. The principal sights to be seen are the Bavarian Museum, the Oktoberfest Museum, The Nymphenburg Palace, The Church of St. Peter (the oldest church in Munich) and the Frauenkirche (Germany's largest gothic churc with the best view). Located near the Alps, Munich is also a skiing centre. In the south of the city, Südelfeld and Spinzingsee are popular resorts for winter sports.

Another festival to gather fun lovers in Munich is the Fasching with its parades attended by thousands. It lasts until the wee-hours of the morning.
